This Sunday, 4 September, we will once again be running the beer tent at the annual Bentley Family Fun Day on the village playing field at the end of Case Lane.

In addition to serving drinks, some of our volunteers will also be at the beer tent and at other stalls at the event (just look out for anybody in one of our black volunteer polo shirts). They will be happy to answer any questions, and to talk about their volunteering experiences, as well as their reasons for volunteering.

This is part of our latest recruitment drive for new volunteers (of which our beer mats and leaflets currently on display at the pub form part). Although we still have tremendous volunteer support, we always need more volunteers – for example, we often have great difficulty filling all our bar shifts. Volunteers make a huge difference to the success of The Case, indeed, it’s fair to say that without the dozens of volunteers who have given up literally thousands of hours of their own time, all for free, over the past three years, we wouldn’t have a pub in Bentley today.

Whether it’s behind the bar, front of house, in the kitchen, DIY or gardening, we have opportunities available to suit a number of different skills and interests. We are very flexible indeed – volunteers can do as little or as much as they like, whenever they like, and it is not even necessary to be a shareholder or regular customer.

To help demonstrate how enjoyable, rewarding and easy volunteering at The Case can be, we have run interviews with some of our wonderful volunteers, as follows:
