Every year, on the anniversary of our re-opening as a community pub, the Case selects a ‘charity of the year’ which we will support for the coming twelve months with fund raising activities. Our last such charity was EACH – East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices for which, at this stage, we are pleased to say we have been able to raise around £5,200 – but the final figure is still pending. From 17th April 2026, we will be supporting The Ipswich Diabetes and Endocrine Centre at Ipswich Hospital.
The Ipswich Diabetes and Endocrine Centre was opened in 1985 under the name The Ipswich Diabetes Centre and was the first of its kind in the UK. This was to ensure that patients could have their care under one roof, ensuring not just efficiency but a far more pleasant experience that patients still receive today. With six specialist consultants, supported by a team of diabetes specialist nurses, dieticians, podiatrists and admin staff. Various clinics run within the building for type 1 and type 2 Diabetic patients.
Throughout the year we will be organising some fun events to raise money for this charity including our monthly Quiz Nights and raffles. The first of these to benefit The Ipswich Diabetes and Endocrine Centre will be on the 25th April starting at 8pm.
