The more observant of our customers may well have noticed a series of changes taking place at the Case over recent weeks. This post highlights a few of them and provides a bit of background.
Possibly the most obvious change, at least as you approach the pub from Case Lane, is that the archway entrance in the front fence has been rebuilt. The posts of the previous version had started to rot and it was only a matter of time before the whole structure collapsed. The new version is much more substantial and also about a foot taller than previously. As you admire the super-duper new archway, take a moment to enjoy the beautiful flowers planted out in pots hanging all along the front fence. The plan is to train Clematis to climb over the archway so keep an eye out for this in future months.
Another change has been to the pub sign where a nifty set of sliding event panels have been added to make it much easier to keep the notices displayed there up to date.
Within the garden, you may have noticed a new bench has arrived. You can read more about the background to that here.
Finally, within the pub you may have spotted that the pictures on the walls have all changed. The latest ones have all been supplied by the Capel Art For Fun group. You can read more about the new exhibition here. You may also have spotted signs and collection pots for The Ipswich Hospital Diabetes and Endocrine Centre. This has been selected as our new Charity Of The Year for the next 12 months. You can read more about that here.
All changes reported in this news item are the results of efforts by volunteers. It takes a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes, as well as serving behind the bar, to keep an operation like the Case going. Thanks to everyone who’s contributed. If you’d like to get involved then we’d certainly welcome your involvement. For extra info see our Volunteering page.
