Every year, on the anniversary of our re-opening as a community pub, the Case selects a ‘charity of the year’ which we will support for the coming twelve months with fund raising activities. Our last such charity was the Alzheimer’s Society for which we are pleased to say we have been able to raise over £5,100. From 17th April 2025, we will be supporting EACH – East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
Just over 25 years ago EACH first opened its doors to families and their children in Ipswich, in what was a rather modest 4 bedroom bungalow in Walker Close. Its aims were to offer help to manage long-term illness and make the best of their final days. Then in 2012 The Treehouse opened. This state of the art centre cares for babies and under 18’s and helps over 200 families a year.
To kick start our support for EACH, the Case will be holding a children’s Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Bonnet Competition between 12 and 2pm on Sunday 20th April. We will also be holding an Easter Raffle. All profits from these activities will go to EACH.
Throughout the year we will be organising other fun events to raise money for this charity including our monthly Quiz Nights and raffles. The first of these to benefit EACH will be on Saturday 26th April.
