Cask Ale Week 2025

The Case is pleased to support Cask Ale Week 2025 which, despite the name, runs from Thursday 18th until Sunday 28th September this year, ie. 11 days inclusive! Cask Ale Week is an annual initiative on the part of Cask Marque to promote Britain’s national drink – cask beer. Pubs across the nation will be taking part. The Case will be open on 9 days during this period, see the Cask Ale Week entries on our September 2025 calendar.

This provides us at the Case with an opportunity to celebrate real ale and to offer a wider selection of ales than we are normally able to. All six of our hand pumps will be in use for Cask Ale Week with a different beer available on each. So if you’re a beer enthusiast, we’re sure you’ll find something to appeal. If you’re not already a convert then please give some of them a try – free tasters are available. Tasting notes for all the beers will be available on each table – look for the laminated sheets.

There’s also a Beer Quiz to try while you sup your pints. Ask at the bar for a Quiz Sheet. In return we ask for a donation to our Charity Of The Year – EACH: East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices. All the questions have been devised by Cask Marque. If you post your completed Quiz Sheets in the box provided in the front bar by closing time on Sunday 28th September, we will mark them and display the scores of the top performers on our website from Wednesday 1st October. The correct answers will also be displayed in the pub from the same day.

We also ask that you vote for your favourite real ale that we serve during Cask Ale Week. There’s space provided on your Quiz Sheets to include this info – vote for up to three ales in the order you enjoyed them most. If you don’t want to take the quiz but are still happy to vote for your favourite ales, please post a note with your choices into the Quiz Sheet box. We will publish the results on our website and the findings will factor into future decisions on which ales to offer at the Case.
