  • Grant success!

Posted on September 19, 2013 by in Campaign, Fundraising

We are delighted to confirm that we have secured a pre-feasibility grant for £5,666 from the Social Investment Business Group.

This grant covers expenses that we have incurred, or soon will be, before we can raise money through our forthcoming share offer. These include:

    – our registration as an Industrial & Provident Society – Bentley Community Pub Ltd
    – a building survey of the pub from Beane Wass & Box
    – a business appraisal and valuation report from Pinders
    – tax advice from BDO accountants
    – printing of our share offer documentation

The business appraisal and valuation report will include an estimate of the level of trade the pub can be expected to generate, making it an important input into our business plan, which we will publish as part of our share offer. Once we have this final piece of the jigsaw in place, we will be ready to launch our share offer, which will run from mid-October to the end of November.

    Fundraising

Our pop-up pub at Bentley Fun Day last Sunday raised £65 – our thanks to all who supported us on both sides of the bar!

Many thanks also to our team of cyclists who raised £400 from a 60-mile sponsored bike ride on 31 August.

We would also like to thank the following local businesses, who have provided donations, some of which take the form of vouchers to be used as prizes in our forthcoming fundraising events:

    – Bentley Riding School
    – Selffit Kitchens
    – Capel Mushrooms
    – BJs Hair & Beauty

Look out for more fundraising events coming up in the next few months, including a Bingo Night and Quiz. If anyone has any other ideas or can organise an event to support us, please get in touch. We would be delighted to hear from you.
